Dr. F. Joyce Gerber, a nationally recognized educational consultant with over 40 years of experience, has a B.S. in Education, a M.S. in Early Childhood Education and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Gerber has been an experienced public school and Head Start teacher, and coordinator of childcare daycare services, and a teacher and director of nursery school programs. She was on the staff of Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, Connecticut for over 18 years, first as Director of the Laboratory School, and then Professor and Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education Program.

Dr. Gerber holds numerous memberships in national professional organizations:

• Member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

• Served as president/vice president of NAEYCs local affiliate, and vice president of the Connecticut affiliate, and a delegate to the New England affiliate

• Past chairman of the Connecticut Community College Child Care Coordinators

• Member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Dr. Gerber also has a proven record of highly effective instructional leadership that includes:

• Validator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

• Council Representative for the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, Child Development Associates (CDA) and advisor for over 100 candidates

• Test Writer for Connecticut Charter Oak State College for Introduction To Early Childhood Education & Infant/Toddler Development CLEP Exams

• Lunchtime seminars on Early Childhood Education for Fortune 500 Corporations including: Aetna, American Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb, General Electric, IBM, Pitney Bowes, YMCA/YWCA and Xerox

• Wrote, directed, produced, and was the featured presenter of 24 hours of early childhood training for Connecticut Public Television

• Past columnist for EARLY CHILDHOOD TODAY magazine on Teacher Tips
